Clinic
You need a referral from your doctor to be seen by one of our osteoporosis specialists. Once we receive your referral, it will be triaged by our team and booked according to the date the referral was received and the urgency of the referral. Please keep in mind that our wait times fluctuate and can be quite long.
You will be booked into two appointment times:
Appointment 1. Group class.
The group class is taught by our team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitian, pharmacist and physicians. You can choose to attend the group class in person or online. No individual medical advice will be provided, only general education on bone health.
You are allowed to bring one friend or family member with you. Below is a sample schedule of the group class:
8:30 am to 9:00 am – Check-in
9:00 am to 9:30 am – Understanding bone density and fracture risk
9:30 am to 10:00 am – Osteoporosis medications
10:00 am to 10:30 am – Nutrition and bone health
10:30 am to 10:45 am – Break
10:45 am to 11:30 am – Weight bearing exercises; Spine sparing strategies
11:30 am to 12:00 pm – Falls prevention; Safe movement
Appointment 2. Physician appointment.
You will be booked for a one-on-one physician appointment on a separate day after your group class.
