Understanding Bone Density and Fracture Risk

  • Describe the bone growth cycle and what normal bone aging is
  • Describe how bone mineral density is measured and what it is measuring
  • Understand how fracture risk is calculated
  • Understand how osteoporosis can be treated

Osteoporosis Medications

The Northern Alberta Osteoporosis Program was created to support patients with osteoporosis through education, outreach and research.

  • State the daily recommended Vitamin D intake for adults

  • Identify food factors that can harm bone health
